Andy Warhol MuseumMany Pittsburghers don't know about this new museum. Others have heard of it, but don't know where it is. And then there are those who just don't care. The Warhol Museum is located in the old Volkwein building on Sandusky St. just across the 7th St. bridge. Very easy to find. We were told there would be ample parking in the city owned lot next to the building, but that advice does not apply to weekday mornings, when that lot is filled with commuter's cars. For a weekday (Wed-Fri) I'd suggest taking the T into town and walking across the bridge. The musuem opens at 11 am, except on Mon. and Tues. when it doesn't open at all. Admission is free with a Carnegie Museum card, otherwise it is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children.

Recently, the Sunnyhill Arts group undertook a pilgrimage to the Museum to do homage to the "local boy who made good".
Or maybe it was just curiosity.
Opinions varied. Some of the rooms were very interesting, as were the collages of his life and artistic development.
We loved the cloud room.

The soup cans showed up in the cafe, which, by the way, served salads that were works of art. Blends of texture, color, and flavor - worthy of Mollie Katzen. And besides that, delicious! The design of the museum is excellent. Each floor represents a stage in his artistic development. If you don't like the stage, you can skip the floor. We skipped the movie theater. .
